Is MagnaWave PEMF Therapy safe to use for my horse, pet & myself?
~ Generally, yes, PEMF is safe to use. MagnaWave PEMF machines are not medical devices and do not treat or cure diseases or their symptoms. We always recommend consulting with your veterinarian concerning your equine/pet's wellness program. We will discuss any contraindications such as implanted medical devices with batteries, prior to the session.
How long has PEMF & MagnaWave been in use?
~ PEMF technology has existed for hundreds of years, dating back to somewhat primitive civilizations, and has been used for a variety of purposes, including seed germination. It was also introduced into the NASA space program when it was discovered that "space sickness" was caused by lack of exposure to the earth's magnetic frequency which PEMF mimics. MagnaWave was founded in 2002, and has been providing an avenue for wellness in both humans and animals ever since, using only top of the line equipment and thorough certification training.
Is it the same as magnetic therapy blankets?
~ While the therapy is similar, MagnaWave is not a static magnet. The difference is in the delivery method, power and how MagnaWave PEMF yields a deeper penetration. The higher power of MagnaWave PEMF provides shorter treatment times and often immediate results. What the blankets can do in 2 to 3 weeks most MagnaWave machines can do in 10 minutes.
Can MagnaWave PEMF Therapy be used pre-event?
~ Yes, however, we recommend that you try MagnaWave
ahead of time, since different horses/pets react differently to a session. We have found that some clients are more relaxed after the therapy, so they might not have the same edge before an event. Other clients are not affected in that way and are ready to perform.
What actually happens during a session?
~ The blood oxygen is increased, lymphatic system is activated and acupuncture points are stimulated. This process reduces pain and inflammation and promotes healing. The oxygenation of the blood helps relieve inflammation, thus relieving pain and helping the body begin to heal itself naturally.
What is the difference between MagnaWave high power PEMF and other low power devices?
While all PEMF is beneficial, it is shown that high powered devices are able to get the job done is less time. In order to receive the full benefits of PEMF Therapy, the treatment has to reach the cells. MagnaWave uses high-powered electromagnetic pulses at a low frequency. The pulses are shown to reach through the body and benefit cells throughout the entire treatment area. This causes improvement in the systemic and arterial blood flow and benefits deep tissues.
Other PEMF Therapy devices use a low-powered pulse at a high frequency. This quick pulse doesn’t build up enough energy and isn’t powerful enough to reach more than skin deep. The effects, therefore, are not as deep and results are more short-lived. This is one of the many differences between low power vs high power PEMF treatments.
